DWTS long gown dress Season 15: Week 2 Costume CritiqueTo finish out my critique this week, I will discuss Joey and Kym's Quick Step costumes. Joey channeled Charlie Chaplinnicely, and Kym was going for the ‘silver screen siren' look. But oh my…the silhouette was the 1930's and her clouche beaded (skull cap) hat was lovely…but oh my…how uncomfortable were you, at looking at the bodice of her costume? Me? –Totally uncomfortable, expecting a costume malfunction at every movement! I realize that only someone with non-real boobs can keep them haessed into a costume as this, without problems. Thank God for silicone! But with the nude back look (achieved by elastic) and the barely covering the breasts on the front (with no visible means of support)…it scared me! This is the most disappointing costume of the night!

Oh, the drama! Our favorite ‘All-Stars' are going home! Wholesale Babydoll Lingerie And next week, Tom waed that two more are going home! I get emotionally attached to my television friends, so I am preparing to be ‘cold-hearted' so I won't feel so badly (but that's just me!). Brooke seems to be staying, so I'll continue to love or hate her dresses. I hated her ‘on trend' beige, meshy dress she wore on Monday night – it had all the current trendy components: tulle, gunmetal metallic beading and sequins, faux ‘nude' cut-out sections etc. But it came together as not really attractive. I loved her Tuesday night dress, however – short, with black leather and glitz – much more appropriate for her ‘edgy' look.

Let's get to the costuming! What couples did I rate the best with their costuming?

I gave Helio and Chelsie both 9 out of 10 for their Jive costumes. I always love a monochromatic color combination, and these dancers scored big with their bright fuchsia outfits. There was the perfect touch of glitz, with the rhinestones on Helo's lapels and pocket flaps and the narrow black trim accented these features. Am I a fan of the trendy rolled up sleeves, showing the perfect amount of white shirt – NO, but I guess I need to ‘get used to it'. Chelsie's middle-connect fringed dress fit her beautifully, was flattering with the diagonal lines, and provided lots of movement for their Jive steps. It had a real back strap and was similar to the gold beaded, fringed dress wo by another dancer, last week, but the pair – coordinated beautifully.

I loved Sabrina and Louis' Quick Step costumes. The leather corseted and boned bodice with a light and airy skirt was stunning. The traditional tail coated tuxedo with a coordinating leather vest for Louis – very manly, yet trendy with the leather. I enjoyed his neckpiece – it had sort of an Austrian equestrian essence. And I'm just now realizing that the outfits are again, monochromatic. The lime green, pink and gunmetal rhinestones on the bustline of Sabrina's dress were classy and gave a textured look to the trim. The vertical strips of metallic glitz on her edgy skirt added height and help create a very flattering design for her petite body. I gave Sabrina a 10 out of 10 and Louis a 9 out of 10.

Cheryl and Emmitt got a 10 out of 10 and a 9 out of 10 for their red and leopard print Quick Step ensembles, respectively. I know I saw a similar look a few seasons ago, but still, I really enjoyed the outfits. Cheryl's animal-printed dress created a flattering silhouette with the deep V's and slim-fitting through the hip area, with a full, swinging hemline. The skirt was lined with red, and showed a wide banding of red at the hemline. Their costumes were evocative of the 1930's with Cheryl's red opera gloves and Emmitt's traditional long tailed tuxedo. Traditional in silhouette and style, but NOT traditional in the color, or with the tails lined with leopard print! His coordinating bow-tie and cummerbund were also non-traditional leopard print. This would probably NOT be a new competitive dancer's first choice for a tuxedo!

I also loved Melissa and Tony's Jive costumes, although not quite as much as the 3 looks I've already discussed. Melissa looked very fresh with her mint green and white printed 1940's themed costume. With the traditional white apple-peeled organza petticoat on her high-waisted skirt (so much better than the too-low waisted costume from last week) and the 40's looking collar on the modest bra-top, trendy ruching was added to give the top a more mode vibe. I liked seeing the mesh on the bodice – to make sure the top did not create a wardrobe malfunction. Tony was somewhat boring, with his green blazer with white sleeves (perfectly rolled up in the current ‘fashion') His black pants had fun green stripes and the silk shantung fabric of his blazer helped create some texture for his look. I gave him an 8 out of 10, with Melissa eaing a 9 out of 10, from me.

I gave the same scores to Kelly and Val, for their Quick Step costumes. Kelly was very elegant in her 1950's inspired basic pinksequined gown with tulle over-skirt, attached with a satin belt with bow at her natural waistline. I would characterize her gown as a traditional ‘ballgown'. Val's white suitwas dapper, with brown trim and a fun rhinestoned tie decoration.

Then there are several pairs where I really loved the lady's costumes, but the guy's costumes were boring. Anna's costume was much improved from last week's. The heavy-metal inspired costume with chains and studs was flattering for her, and I enjoyed her patteed stockings! Drew had a touch of chains and studs, but with his white shirt and black pants, I wasn't impressed (although anyone would be able to create a similar look with just a minimum of effort)!

Shawn's Jive costume was cute and flattered her shape and height. The ruffled neckline detail added interest to the totally bedazzled bodice. The 1940's themed organza skirt was perfect, and didn't over-whelm her. Derek under-whelmed with a light gray jacket with dark gray trousers with white shirt. On my television screen, Shawn's costume looked pink and Derek's tie and pocket square looked peach! I'm guessing that ‘in person' they matched, but this is always an issue, when you are using different fabrics – they sometimes don't come off as matching, under lights, or in a video.white shirt and black pants, I wasn't impressed (although anyone would be able to create a similar look with just a minimum of effort)!

Bristol and Mark's Quick Step costumes, Apolo and Karina's Quick Step costumes, Kirstie and Maks' Jive costumes, and Gilles and Peta's Jive costumes all eaed 8 out of 8 for everyone. Bristol and Mark were ‘cute' in their weste-themed costumes, but didn't totally excite me. Anyone could probably put similar looks together. Apolo and Karina created a 1940's gangster look with so-so results. Kirstie and Maks also created a 1940's theme – but French-to match their music. Maks did NOT look his usual dapper self, and Kirstie's black beaded dress was flattering for her. I didn't like the faux deep V on her rear-end, however! IF it were really ‘nude' – it would have revealed way too much! I didn't like Gilles ‘edgy' gray jacket at all, really. It looked amateurish – it wasn't impeccably tailored – I think the lapel area was just not done well, and it totally distracted…or was I distracted from seeing too much of his adorable chest???? And I'm never a fan of fringed or ruffled pants – with row after row of this circular trim up and down the legs, although it was well done. And excuse me? Where was the back of her costume? There were straps on the front, surely there was enough trim to continue a strap across the back, so it didn't look like her bra was floating on her front?

And now we won't be seeing Joey and Kym next week. But I'm sure the costuming and dancing will be mostly top-notch and I look forward to next weeks show! (But not quite as much as I look forward to participating in my son's wedding to his sweetheart-wearing an original Satin Stitches silk wedding gown!)

DWTS halloween costumes outlet Season 19 FinaleJanel and Val let the music and emotion create their visual. Minimalism was the name of the game for Val, wearing basic street-apparel trousers to complete his ‘no-shirt policy' look. Janel's sexy, wispy costume was short, sheer, elegant, sophisticated and created beautiful fluidity. Her mesh, rhinestoned bodice didn't detract from the vertical ruched sections of her costume. Rhinestones were sprinkled at her shoulders and neckline. It was difficult for me to determine the exact color of her costume, as it looked lavender or gray on my television screen. With no detailed photos yet, to compare, I'll just leave it at that. It was a pastel and understated, which complimented their routine.

swimwear manufacturer Sadie and Mark portrayed Mario Brothers video game costumes which were extremely well done. Sadie's Princess Peach costume was adorable with her deep satin bustle over a lighter pink satin skirt and white petticoat. Her rhinestoned bodice was just as exquisite. I LOVED Mark's red and black oversized hounds-tooth checked shirt with blue denim bib overalls, both rhinestoned for maximum glitter! Maybe if the real Mario Brothers wore rhinestoned togs, I would have played more video games (then again...maybe not!). And host Tom's comment, referring to Mark as the contestant with ‘the best use of detachable facial hair', was my favorite comment of the night!

What an exciting season of Dancing with the wholesale halloween costumes Stars! This week's Finale showcased the fabulous final four couples, starting with the ‘Judge's Pick Round'. This area of competition highlighted one of each of the contestants' previous performances in their original costumes. Because I already critiqued these, I'll spare you a repeat of my thoughts. The judges were looking for improvement in the dancing, but unfortunately there was no improvement in the costuming!

We were then treated to a fun-filled performance by Annie and her cohorts, from the upcoming self-titled movie musical, due to hit the theaters just before Christmas.

Finally, we hit the most important performances of the Finale: the Freestyle dances, with all new costuming. Thankfully, the Freestyle costumes were each above average, but, unfortunately, they were not extremely visually exciting either!

Bethany and Derek started this round with Bethany wearing an interesting white poncho which was heaved off to reveal her masculine black leather jacket with gray and silver metallic glitz-ified design lines, and leggings. Derek donned a coordinating black leather jacket, wo with black jeans. Bethany's ensemble reminded me of Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation attire – very bold and powerful.

Alfonso and Witney wowed in white, with black trim. Alfonso was so debonair with black glitzy lapels, buttons, pants and bow tie. But I wasn't thrilled with Witney's companion costume which was evocative of the 1940's. Her black beaded appliques appeared to be ‘stuck on' her white satin jacket, and then black beaded fringe on her dance briefs hung down below her satin skirt (which was later removed to show off her glitzy tap-pants). She also wore a rhinestoned (and possibly fringed) performance bra under her white jacket. Her entire look was just way too busy with too many disjointed details, contrasting with Alfonso's understated and simple ensemble.

The four couples were so evenly matched, each excelling at their own best dance styles, that really, any could take home the mirror ball trophy. It not only will be determined by their respective dance talents, but also by the excitement of their routines, and the size of their fan base. There will be one more elimination and another dance performance by the remaining 3 contestants to decide the winner. To me, all 4 couples from Monday night's competition, were winners!

corsets wholesale In my senior year of fashion school, we had to make a lingerie garment inspired by one of the four elements of nature. I chose air and had a lot of fun working with light, gauzy fabrics. But my pièce de résistance was the underbust corset I handmade to cinch in the gown undeeath it. I lined and boned a shimmery silver jacquard fabric and strung hundreds of glass beads at the hem for a sparkly fringe effect. It took days of hand beading in class, on the train, in front of the TV…. I poured a lot of sweat and tears into this corset! But the finished product was a success and I got an A+ as my final grade.

Theres Sexy Clubwear a reason I write for a blog called The Lingerie Addict. Besides the amazing community that TLA has introduced me to, I also happen to have a serious lingerie addiction. There is something about lingerie that is so personal and sensual while remaining a functional and a necessary part of my life. It is here that many people have an easier time expressing who they really are, since lingerie continues to be a hidden part of every day fashion. Whether you prefer sporty, colorful, or downright erotic, lingerie is a great place to explore your personal preferences without the fear of judgment from others.

I started getting into fashion at 11 years old, and by 15 I began experimenting with incorporating lingerie into my daily wardrobe (in an age-appropriate manner, of course). Vintage slips, petticoats, and cami tops made their way into the mix; aside from the occasional hallway bullying (it's tough being different when you're in high school), it started my newfound love affair with lingerie. As with many inanimate objects, our clothing has the ability to tell a story. Each sentimental piece you own has a history how it made its way into your life, and how it makes you feel. These pieces can have the ability to bring back memories and feelings at the sight, smell, or feel of them. Since I've gotten into lingerie, I've amassed quite a collection of pieces that hold a special place in my heart. Here I'm sharing eight of these personal pieces and why they mean so much to me. My First Luxury Corset

It wasn't until I left my tiny suburban hometown for NYC that I was exposed to luxury fashion and I first laid eyes on quintessential luxury lingerie brand La Perla. Though I longed to own my own piece of La Perla lingerie, I didn't expect that dream to come true so quickly. But one day, while casually shopping a designer clearance special, I came across this quality La Perla corset for over 50% off the retail price. I had never seen such quality construction before and I was smitten. This corset was my first introduction to true luxury, and it has quickly become the standard I hold all other luxury lingerie to. My Vintage Bloomers

Just before starting college I took a trip to LA and spent a good two days shopping the amazing selection of vintage boutiques around the city. I landed myself a bunch of unique finds that I plan to hold onto for years to come, but I also scored the cutest set of ruffled bloomers for under my flirty skirts! Not only do I have a thing for retro, girlish styles, but the color combo is one of my all-time favorites. And they kept (and still keep) me covered on those windy days when I fear the embarrassment of an accidental flash. My First Handmade Bra

Majoring in lingerie design in college was no easy feat. But it was an experience I wouldn't trade for the world. I leaed so much about the history and construction of lingerie, with the added benefit of a hands-on experience creating and sewing my own pieces. For our first assignment we had to make a soft cup bra so we leaed all about the multiple components that go into making it. Within a week I had designed, draped, drafted, and constructed a fully functional triangle bra fit specifically to my measurements. The bra still fits me today and though I don't wear it much, I still keep it in good condition as a reminder of how far I've come in my career. My Marabou Slippers

At one point as a teenager I developed a marabou obsession, adding the feathered trim to many of my existing clothes. I bought babydolls, robes and accessories covered in the stuff, but I was never able to find the vintage marabou slippers that I saw in old Hollywood photos. After searching for years I found the perfect pink pair in Soho and snatched them up. I wore them to class, around the house, and finally to my junior prom! To this day, when I'm not feeling my best, I still enjoy sliding these on and prancing around my apartment, channeling my inner vintage starlet. My First Designer Bra

When I first started working in the industry I had my eye on a gorgeous strappy Marlies Dekker bra for a good two years. It was such an edgy way to highlight the decolletage and the first of its kind, helping spark the cage trend. I was dying to wear it to be seen! So when I was promoted to a full-fledged designer at my first job and finally had the paycheck to match, you can guess what my first fancy lingerie purchase was! My Marlies made me feel confident, edgy, and fashion-forward with its element of surprise. I'm constantly finding new ways to show it off. My Sequin Garter Belt

I came across this sequin garter belt while I was still in high school, and had visions of cabarets and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. As one who prefers flashy over sexy, I often wore this garter over a pair of shorts or a miniskirt and attached them to my Clueless-inspired over-the-knee socks. It was funky and out there as an everyday item, but I couldn't care less! The teasing Idea I got from my classmates failed to break my spirit and instead inspired me to go even further in my experimentation, ultimately leading me to a major in lingerie design in college. I credit this garter belt with guiding me towards my career path, and I keep it these days for fun and reminiscing. My Favorite Strapless Bra

One staple every girl should have in her wardrobe is a good strapless bra. But it can be difficult to find a good supportive one that stays put. I discovered this one at Victoria's Secret a few years back and have found it irreplaceable. The secret is the slotted elastic sewn all around the top of the bra. The elastic has small slits in it every half inch, where a removable bra strap can hook allowing you to attach the strap anywhere on the bra, front or back. This makes it a cinch to convert your straps to any position needed. Unfortunately this construction hasn't caught on, and I've never seen a bra like this again. I happen to be small busted so it could be that this style doesn't hold up as well with bigger cup sizes, but for me it has been a game changer. I hope the industry will come out with a similar style again soon.  My College Senior Project

Do you have lingerie that is sentimental to you? I would love to hear the stories behind your favorite pieces!
